Actually, we can diagnose that from right here

A support call with a vendor on a shared computer screen is going fine for this pilot fish -- when suddenly, the computer goes down.

"Not knowing what had happened, I told the vendor that we just lost power in the building and we would have to continue the support call later," fish says. "The rest of the IT team then went to the server room and started making plans for server shutdown and checked to see if the generators kicked on.

"After about 20 minutes of the entire building being in the dark -- well, it wasn't that dark, being daylight -- I got a call from the customer support area. They were on a GoToMeeting when the monitor went out. They did a reboot of the laptop and could get to the Internet, but the monitor was still out.

"Could someone from the support desk come take a look at the monitor?"
