This organization is rolling out Microsoft Outlook 2010 to the PCs, and some business groups are also interested in using Outlook 2011 for the Mac, reports a pilot fish on the scene.
"A status call on the rollout is going well until one of the senior managers mentions that Outlook 2011 is not performing to expectations and Microsoft needs to change it," says fish.
"When I asked about the specific issue, I was told, 'The Mac version should have the same or more features than the Windows version because it is 2011, which is higher than 2010.'
"I tried to explain that it's a different operating system with a different release numbering process, but I was shut down.
"The manager then proceeded to mention executive names who would be contacted if we didn't comply.
"Suffice it to say, we are looking at options to attempt to meet the 'requirements.'"
